Crrrazy!!

I'm now under the 20 day mark. I officially have 19 days until I check in which means I have 18 days until I leave. I assume all of this will go quickly because today and tomorrow I'm doing stuff for Passion, tomorrow night is New Year's Eve, and the 2nd-5th is when Passion 2010 is. Then I'll probably spend the next day or two helping tear down for Passion and then I'll only have ten or eleven days until it's time to leave. That's INSANE. I still don't have storage bins. I was at Walmart yesterday and everything but they're such a pain to buy that I just want to wait until my mom is there so I don't have to deal with large, plastic bins on my own. Haha. I did, however, buy towels. And socks. (For me and to donate at Passion.) I also went to Target and got bobby pins, grey tights, and a lock. So really I just need the bins now... and a new loofah. Walmart was completely out. It was weird.

On a completely unrelated note, I noticed that I have 22 followers. That's ridiculous. I can't be that interesting. But thanks for reading/caring (or at least pretending to do so). :)

3 weeks.

In exactly 3 weeks I'll be checking in. Ahhh! I still need to go buy storage bins, towels, wash cloths, and probably a new mattress pad. The one I have from my dorm is sad because I've been using it at home as well.

My family Christmases are finally complete. I had an awesome few days of lots of family and lots of good food. Thursday night (Christmas Eve) we went to my dad's parents' house which is what we have done every Christmas Eve for my whole life. It was really fun and I got to see my cousin's new, sweet baby (9 days old!!). Her name is Hailey and she's precious. On Christmas my mom's mom and my aunt and uncle on that side came to our house and we opened presents and ate shrimp and grits. It was wonderful. Saturday was more of a break from actual Christmas activities but I hung out with Christine and then we went with the same family members from the Friday gathering (minus my grandmother) to see Invictus which is by far one of the best movies I have ever seen. It was incredible and I highly recommend going to see it if you haven't. Finally, yesterday I had two family things to go to in one day. I started out at my extended stepfamily's Christmas where we had really good barbecue and I got to see cousins and aunts and uncles I hadn't seen as well as my stepsibs who I hadn't seen in awhile because they went on a Christmas cruise (lucky). From there we headed down to Peachtree City where my really extended family lives. As in my second and third cousins kind of extended. It was fabulous and I really enjoyed it. :) And that, in a nutshell, is why I have not posted. Not that it's even been that long since I last did.

It's really hard to distract myself from thinking only about the CP because even at all those family functions everyone kept asking if I was excited or what it was or what I was going to be doing or if I was getting credit or if I was scared and while I love to talk about it I found myself rattling off a paragraph/speech about it every time I was asked unless the person was genuinely interested.

Tonight, however, will be an amazing distraction from it because Christine is coming over and we're having a pizza/video game/pajama night. I have been thinking about the double bacon and black olive pizza since we planned it. And the Apple Fanta. And Super Smash Bros. Obviously it doesn't take much to excite me. :)

So to end this ridiculously long post- I hope you and your family had an amazing Christmas and if you're counting down (whether to your program or until applications for Fall go up) I hope your wait goes really quickly. :)

Oh and random to Kristin if you happen to see this: I tried to leave you a comment but your comment box wouldn't show up, but the WE in WEtv stands for Women's Entertainment. :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I don't have time to write a full post, nor do I want to. Just wanted to pop in and say Merry Christmas to you and your families. Hope your day is filled with lots of celebrating. :)

And happy, happy day to the glorious King and Savior of the world.

Christmas Eve Eve

Today is going to be full of a whole lot of helping my mom shop. I just wanted to post because I wanted to prove to myself that even when I'm busy I can update... which means I have no excuse to stop posting once my CP begins. :)

Lots of cleaning, lots of shopping, and lots of planning/semi-packing in between. It's convenient to do the Spring CP because you have Christmas right before it starts so you can just ask for things you're going to need (business-y shoes, Publix gift cards) instead of having to buy them yourself. :) I picked out some really cute shoes yesterday. I tried to find a pair of grey pants, but they are ever elusive. There was a cute pair at Target, but apparently I don't fit in women's sizes. I guess I'm not a woman?

Shopping phase 2 is commencing, if I don't head to the car my mom might combust. Okay, she won't, but she's pretty stressed out and I would hate to be a cause of any more stress.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!

3 Days- Three. Uno, dos, tres.

Christmas is only THREE days away and that is crazy! Still knitting up a storm and also helping my mom get her shopping done. I need to find paint pens soon. I'm wondering if they have them at Walmart which would save me a (more expensive) trip to Hobby Lobby.

I also need to buy a few pairs of hose, bed risers, some hangers, and probably a couple of other things. My mom bought me some new black flats yesterday, so those are crossed off the list. :)

It's weird to think that my check-in is in 27 days. Less than a month and I'll be moving in/checking in to do something I've been waiting to do for 7 years. I'm pretty darn excited.

My week is about to get even crazier, so I can't promise any posts. Tomorrow I pretty much have to knit non-stop all day (except when I'm doing more shopping with my mom). Thursday I have to finish up any knitting I have left in time to go to my dad's parents' house as is our Christmas Eve tradition. Then on actual Christmas my aunt, uncle, and grandmother are coming to our house for Christmas fun and shrimp and grits. Somewhere in there- probably Wednesday night- my sisters, my mom, and I have to partake in our annual tradition of getting way too much food at Krystal to eat while driving around and looking at Christmas lights. It's one of my favorite parts of December. :)

So, while I'll probably post again before Friday, I might not. So just in case... MERRY CHRISTMAS!

4 Days!

No, not 4 days until my CP. 4 days until Christmas!! Woohoo! I have been knitting up a storm and still have a lot left to do. Haha. That also means 28 days or exactly 4 weeks until my check-in date. That's INSANE. I'm starting to freak out. I also am realizing that I need to make a packing list and start looking into finding containers and other various items I need for the move. So I'm going to make it on here because making packing lists in blogs is something I do frequently so that I can't lose said list. If you don't want to read it, feel free to skip it. :)

That's pretty much all that I can think of right now. I can always add to it... right? I feel like that's a lot of stuff, but I mean, I'm going to be gone a long time. Returner applications for the best camp ever went up and I'm really stressed out. I want to work there again but I might want to extend my program so that won't work. I also probably wouldn't be able to make it home for the returner interview (or any of the other interviews for that matter) which poses a problem. Sigh.

I forgot I could email and ask what to do in that situation. Problem solved. Well, decision not solved, but you know. I've been praying about it, so I'm not worried. There's an answer, I just don't know it yet. Both have their upsides/downsides. I think that once I get to Disney I'm going to really want to stay, but after going to the camp Christmas party I just can't imagine not going back there this summer. It was over the minute I saw pictures of my girls in the slideshow. For now I'm going to at least apply and continue to pray about it. I may get to Disney and hate it or I may get there and not be able to imagine not at least trying to extend.

This has been a gigantic post of rambling that is mostly only important to me. But at least a lot of it was CP related. :)

Time to go knit some more.

Have a great start to your week!

Click Play. (Or Push Play, but who likes them??)

Preface: This is not Disney related. If you hate Universal, just skip this entry. Or peace out. Nah, just kidding. You can stay.

Okay, before you read you need to push the play button. If you aren't going to then just leave (get out...). Okay, if you're in a public place or will be publicly embarrassed by people who won't appreciate John Williams' brilliance then you don't have to, but your reading experience will severely suffer.

One of the things I am most excited about isn't even College Program related... or Disney related. I am so freaking excited for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure. That's quite a mouthful which is why I usually just call it Harry Potter World. And dude, I'm not kidding about the excitement level. I've been signed up for the email updates since the announcement in 2007. I was planning on visiting as soon as it opened but now I don't even have to make a special trip. I'll already be down there.

Seriously I just keep getting more and more pumped about it. These pictures made me say "Oh my gosh!" out loud, which would have been embarrassing if anyone had been here to hear it. I guess it still is. No, but come on. Who doesn't want to walk around Hogsmeade and see the Hogwarts castle and see the Hogwarts Express and shop in Harry Potter stores and walk around speaking with British accents? Okay, maybe I'm the only one who wants to do the last one...

I'm not gonna lie, the shot with the Hulk in it got me pretty excited, too. I forgot about the proximity of Universal to my new future home and I'm pretty sure it's going to be nice to go to a park that isn't affiliated with where I work. Oooh! See! I threw in something CP related. This wasn't a total bust!

Okay it was... but I needed to get my excitement out.

WOOOO!

Edit:

I'm bored. I'm doing this. Deal with it.

My Life According to...

Pick your Artist:
I pick Andrew McMahon because then I get to cheat the system and use Jack's Mannequin songs AND Something Corporate songs. Win.

Also, the directions say to choose a song and "cleverly" answer the questions. Guess I'll try my hardest to be clever.

I'm also enjoying throwing songs in, so here is the part where you pause the previous song and play this one for this portion:

Toniiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Jonas style.

Tonight was fabulous. I went to my sister's house because she and her husband were having a cookie night. Have I mentioned how much I love baking? If I haven't... I LOVE BAKING! Yeah. So much so that it warranted that. I spent a lot of hours baking/glazing cookies to be decorated and it was so wonderful. Sweet friends had their cars broken into near the end of it though, so keeping them and all of the lost data on their laptops in your prayers would be much appreciated.

My check-in date keeps creeping ever closer. There's a little over a week until Christmas, than a little less then a week until New Year's/Passion 2010 (woo!!) and after Passion I only have 12 days until I leave. That's insane. I haven't even begun to think about what I need. Scary.

Oh, also... sad day. I went to get in my car to go deposit a check today and it wouldn't start. My battery seems to be dead. I was so upset. I mean, I'd rather it happen now because I would probably cry and freak out if it happened in Florida. At least here my stepdad can check it out and fix whatever the actual problem is if it isn't just a dead battery (which it shouldn't be since the battery was recently replaced).

So, what I learned today... If you are an apt baker, you are a valuable asset to cookie nights.

I just almost signed off with "ChaCha!" I have clearly been answering too many questions lately.

Good night. :)

Lack of Blogging.

I'm really good at not updating which doesn't bode well for Florida. I'm going to make myself do it there, though, because it seems like everyone's blogs except for like 2 drop off completely after check-in or training.

I've been really busy lately. Finals (which are over), Glory in the Highest (which is awesome and I can't wait for night 2 tonight), and various other things including but not limited to cleaning, figuring out Christmas gifts, and running errands for Glory in the Highest. If there is one thing I'm going to miss besides my family and friends it's PCC. I'm really sad that I'm going to miss out on 4 months of core team meetings and gatherings and growth and the awesomeness that I know God is going to be right at the center of.

There's another meteor shower tonight. The forecast is cloudy. I'm pretty sure that I'm just not meant to ever see meteors in my life. It's slightly (very) disappointing. Oh well.

On a Disney note it feels like all I ever talk about anymore is the College Program. Which is kind of cool, but I assume it's like getting married. After awhile you probably get a little tired of saying the same thing about how the wedding is coming along even though you're totally excited about it and love thinking about it and planning for it. I enjoy talking about it, but I don't like that it makes the conversation all about me. I want to hear what other people are planning about and what they're doing and it makes it really hard for that to happen.

This has been a fairly substantial post, so now I must go and get ready (get out of bed at least) for Glory in the Highest part 2.

Oh. And... What I learned today (or last night in this case... though it was after midnight so I suppose it counts): Using a knife to cut cork is a fine idea. Tripping while carrying said knife is a bad idea and might end in injury. You might just end up with a Spiderman band-aid though, so it won't all be bad. :)

Have a WONDERFUL Sunday!

Brace yourselves.

So... Christine and I made a joint video today because we're awesome. A. We're nuts, so sorry. B. I'm not wearing really ugly rings although it looks like it. I burned the fire out of my fingers because I thought it'd be a good idea to rest my hand on a 425 degree oven rack. Therefore, I'm rocking Spiderman bandaids.

Enjoy the insanity.

Also, yesterday I cleaned my room finally. It was worth the time that it took me. :) I was so excited about it that I took pictures. I also made a (lame) PictureTrail slideshow. I hate PictureTrail, but it was the fastest, easiest way to throw these on here. Since they aren't good pictures or pictures I even care about that much, I figure it doesn't matter. So, now, without further ado, my clean room:

A Disney Survey

Movies
Which movie is your favorite? Meet the Robinsons. Also Wall-E, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. And Beauty and the Beast. And The Little Mermaid. And Mulan. And 101 Dalamatians. And Robin Hood. And Toy Story.
Which movie has the best story? Meet the Robinsons and Wall-E. And 101 Dalmatians. And Brother Bear.
Which movie did you laugh the most at? Finding Nemo, maybe?
Which movie made you cry? The majority of them. Meet the Robinsons, The Lion King, and Brother Bear always get me the most, though.
What is your favorite song from the movies? "You've Got a Friend In Me" (Toy Story), "I'll Make a Man Out of You" (Mulan), "Go the Distance" (Hercules), "Seize the Day" (Newsies)
If you were sucked into one of the Disney movies, which would you prefer? Oliver & Company or The Rescuers
Which Disney movie probably shouldn’t have been made? That Cinderella Twist in Time sequel.
Are you sick of the sequels? I haven't seen a lot of them, so I can't pass judgment. I do enjoy Toy Story 2 as well as The Lion King 2.

The Park
Have you ever been to Disneyland? Negative. :(
Have you ever been to Disney World? Lots.
Have you been to any of the other Disney Parks around the world? No, but I do have a keychain/store bag from Hong Kong Disneyland.
Which park is the best? I'm partial to Magic Kingdom... mostly for Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and hot dogs from Casey's.
What’s your favorite ride? Splash Mountain, Soarin', the afore mentioned Buzz, Dinosaur, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Peter Pan's Flight, TTA, Mad Tea Party, OH and Star Tours!
What’s your least favorite ride? I have been sitting here trying to think of something for too long. I've got nothing.
Who have you been to Disney with? Family. Once my friend went with my family, but it's always with the fam in some form.
Would you go back? NEVAR!
Did you get autographs and/or pictures with your favorite characters? Duh. I wish I could find my autograph book from years ago. I remember Pluto's signature was always my favorite.
Which character is your favorite picture with? We have a lot of fun pictures with Minnie, Pluto, and a couple of others at lunch at Hollywood & Vine before it was a Playhouse Disney meal. I also have a fun one with Aurora admiring my "I've got a black belt in keeping it real" shirt.
Would you ever work for Disney? Um. Duh.
Would you remember where they were if you went back? Holiday hoobeewhatee?
Which is the best show at Disney? Fantasmic!

Which is the best restaurant? Full service, I enjoy 50's Prime Time. Quick service, I crave Casey's.

Which is the best hotel on Disney property? I've stayed at Pop Century (loved it) and Caribbean Beach (barely remember that one), but I LOVE the Wilderness Lodge (even though I've never stayed there).

Well then. That was fun. I should probably go to bed since it's past 3am and I have a math final tomorrow. Whoops.

Saturday, December 5, 2009

Oh, life.

Today has been really fun. Spent a lot of time with my sister, my mom, and my aunt.

It's funny how much no matter who I'm around now, Disney always comes up at least for a little bit. I love it. If only because I never get tired of talking about Disney.

I'm feeling less stressed out now. God's got it under control. That's enough for me.

I don't have much else to say and I want to get back to the Tech game. So yeah.

What I learned today: The fact that Florida couldn't play as well as Auburn did against Alabama confirmed my earlier opinion that they were highly overrated. I mean, come on. Did you see the games against Arkansas and Mississippi State?

Edit: GO JACKETS!!!

One week.

One week (consisting of 3 days of 4 finals) until this semester is over. It hasn't been terrible. It hasn't been awesome.

It's almost time for mass amounts of cookie-baking and I cannot tell you how excited I am for that. If we had had more stuff in the kitchen yesterday I probably would have baked instead of running (but that wouldn't help much with Marathon training, now would it?), but we were running low on relatively essential supplies. Yes, I could have gone to the store. No, I didn't. The running was more beneficial anyway.

Today after yoga (it's a non-running day) I am going to finish my room once and for all. I'm tired of starting and not finishing. It's in a constant cycle of a terrible state to a half-finished state and back to terrible. It's not even anything that's bad. Mostly it's clothes. I keep forgetting to do laundry and then when I go to do it the washer and dryer are full. The rest of it is water bottles. They're everywhere. I'm single-handedly killing the planet. Everything else that isn't a clothing item or a plastic bottle of some sort is the hard part. I have very little storage in my room and most of it is already taken up. There is always a pile of some sort that has nowhere to go. However, the storage problem has now been taken care of due to the fact that I cleaned out my crazy-filled keepsake drawers. I consolidated three drawers of crap down to one drawer (mostly by throwing away stuff my 15-year-old self thought would be important 5 years later). My favorite part was the yearbooks. I hadn't read through what people wrote in them in a long time. No trash pile for those. It's funny to see who (people thought) you were.

The best one was my senior one where I was told multiple times that my future included wedding planning at Disney World. Why I ever decided to stray from that dream is beyond me. I guess it didn't seem practical or possible. Since when has that ever stopped me? For crying out loud, I just auditioned to be a character.

I have now forgotten what I was talking about... Oh. Right. Storage. That should no longer be a problem, so full speed ahead with the reorganization of my room.

That means time to eat lunch then buckle down and get to it.

What I learned today: It's possible for you to be right when everyone else is wrong. Sometimes it takes courage and sometimes it takes strength. It's okay to be scared and it's okay to think it's hard, but you should never give up.

It is possible

that I just ran 3 miles for the sheer reason that I was so stressed out that I couldn't take it anymore and it was the only thing I could think of to do.

I'm not stressed about Disney actually. Just everything else that has to happen before it. I'm stressed with school and figuring out how in the heck I'm going to make everything work out and having enough money before getting a paycheck there but still being able to buy Christmas presents and pretty much anything else you could think of.

Yeah.

Emailing Machine

Man. I feel like it's my job to email people at Disney. That's all I've been doing lately. I guess not, but since I never email people it feels that way.

I suppose it's important to note that I am now officially Merchandise. (Big resounding YAY!) I think that I would get tired of Character Performer pretty quickly and I just didn't want it as much as some people did. I would hate to be the person to take that from someone who wanted it their whole life. I've wanted to do other things at Disney my whole life and that's not the best way to help me achieve them.

I put in a location request today. Apparently I'm stupid for not doing it during my interview. Why would I request a location during my interview if I had no idea which role they were going to give me? Oh well. Now I know.

Now I need to go study for finals because real life keeps creeping into my Disney excitement.

What I learned today: Your family will think you are nuts if you are 20 and DVR both Tinker Bell movies.
